During J-Term, many students travel to rainforests, islands, deserts, and excavation sites for hands-on art, biology, business, geography, history, music, and theatre lessons that can’t be taught in the classroom.
- Travel to London to study the effects that Brexit may have on international finance.
- Travel to Nicaragua to treat medical needs and address water quality.
- Visit ancient sites in Peru while examining the effects of tourism on multiple cultures.
- Teach English in Senegal while exploring Senegalese culture, religion, and business.
More than 20 faculty-led study tours are offered every academic year, with some in June. Carthage is ranked No. 6 in the country among baccalaureate institutions for student participation in short-term study abroad.
