The Office of Marketing and Communications is an award-winning team of marketers, writers, designers, media relations professionals, and digital media experts who work to tell the Carthage story in creative, impactful, and authentic ways.

We want the world to know that Carthage transforms students’ lives through distinctive learning experiences, in-demand degree programs, personal attention from distinguished faculty, and a keen focus on career and personal development.

We want our ever-growing network of alumni, friends, and community and business partners to know that Carthage has a profound impact on Kenosha, our state, and all of southeastern Wisconsin as a premier educational institution for the region’s workforce and leaders.

Mar-Comm’s primary mission is to support recruitment, retention, fundraising, and engagement. We do this through the strategic and innovative use of digital and print marketing tactics including advertising, social media, the Carthage.edu website, print pieces, public and media relations, and storytelling. Our work promotes Carthage’s distinctive academic, athletic, and co-curricular programs; and stellar faculty, staff, alumni, and student body.

Media Relations
Mar-Comm coordinates all media relations efforts for Carthage. If you would like us to alert the news media about an upcoming event, guest speaker, or accomplishment (your own or that of a colleague or student), our office can assist you in crafting and distributing a release to area media.

Social Media
Mar-Comm manages all of the main Carthage College social media accounts, and acts as a resource for departments and organizations with their own social media needs. If you would like some help starting or enhancing a social media platform, contact communications@sitecata.com.

Carthage Logos, Carthage-Branded Merchandise, and Brand Management
Mar-Comm governs the use of all Carthage College logos and brand elements. All materials that include the Carthage College or Carthage Athletics logo must be approved by our office before production. Please contact us before ordering your own materials, to avoid paying for items that don’t meet the College’s brand guidelines and cannot be used.

Photography and Video Services
Mar-Comm takes photos and videos of Carthage activities and events for use in high-level recruitment and fundraising projects.

Event Promotion
Mar-Comm assists with event promotion and support in several ways. For events with a large audience, or for events that are open to the public, we often assist with promotion and support including websites, advertising, news releases, calendar posts in external media, tickets, posters, flyers, invitations, online RSVP forms, event programs, and more. Our office also provides tools that event organizers can use to do their own promotion.

The Bridge
Mar-Comm manages The Bridge, a communication tool for the Carthage community. All Carthage faculty, staff, and students may use The Bridge to share their news and announce events. Visit the Bridge homepage at cmyq.sitecata.com/bridge. Submit a story at cmyq.sitecata.com/bridge/submit. The Bridge email newsletter is sent to all faculty, staff, and students every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.

Additional Services for Faculty and Staff
Our office designs and places orders for swag items and print pieces aimed at external audiences (such as prospective students). We also create all online faculty and staff profiles.
